Phillip Wasson

Head Football, Boys Track, and Fishing Coach

Philip Wasson is a native of Greenville, MS. He began his 20-year coaching career after playing college football at Mississippi Delta Community College and Murray State University.

Coach Wasson began his career at GCS as the head strength coach and defensive coordinator. From there he headed to Washington School, again as the head strength coach,  but also coached the offensive and defensive line. He served as Head Football Coach at St. Joesph Catholic School, Gentry High School, and eight years at Washington School. He joined the Rebel family in 2019 and currently serves as the head coach for both the varsity and junior high football teams, head coach of the boys' track team, and was instrumental in forming the Tri-County fishing team in 2019.

Through the course of Philip's profession he has earned MAIS Coach of the Year twice, MAIS Conference Coach of the Year 5 times, Delta Area Coach of the Year 5 times, and Metro Coach of the Year. He has a win-loss record of 101-61, and he has won the 5A State Championship in 2011 and 2015.

Philip is married to Beth Wasson who is also a native of Greenville. They have three sons: BJ (19), Walker (15), and Chase (10).

Joshua Osborne

Osborne
     Joshua Osborne has been at Tri-County Academy since 2010 and has been the head junior high and varsity boys basketball coach since 2015.  Coach Osborne is a 2010 graduate of Mississippi College with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science.  He was a member of the basketball programs at both Holmes Community College and Mississippi College.  Joshua married the former Marybeth Lane, and they have three children, Tack, Kennedy, and Rowan.  Coach Osborne and his family attend Flora United Methodist Church and are also residents of Flora.

Jesse Ward

     Jesse Ward was born and raised in Louisville, Mississippi, where he attended Winston Academy from K-5 through 12th grade. Upon graduation from WA in 2006, he signed a football scholarship with the University of Central Arkansas. He finished his playing career at Mississippi College and graduated from there in 2011 with a BSBA in Accounting.
     After MC, he began his college coaching career at Holmes Community College as Running Backs Coach in 2011. From there, he moved on to Northwestern State (LA) as Assistant Offensive Line Coach in 2012; and then to Delta State as Running Backs/Assistant Strength Coach for the 2013/2014 seasons, where he also received a Master’s in Sports Administration. In 2015, he began his high school coaching career as the Offensive Coordinator at Bayou Academy in Cleveland, MS. He has also coached at Grenada High School as Tackles/Tight Ends Coach in 2016, Central Hinds Academy as Quarterbacks Coach/Special Teams Coordinator in 2017, and Clinton High School in 2018/2019 as 8th Grade Offensive Coordinator/High School Running Backs Coach.
     Coach Ward began at Tri-County in 2020 as the Offensive Line Coach for Junior High/High School Football and also serves as the Boys’ Strength Coach for athletic teams that lift weights. He is happily married to the former Holly Davis of Ruleville, MS. Together they have 2 young sons, Henry (2) and Davis (1). Coach Ward and his family are excited and blessed to be given the opportunity to be a part of the Tri-County family. Go Rebels!
